Long Zheng posted about some research Microsoft has been doing with Photo editing. It’s simply amazing what they can do with images, and so easily…. Check it out here

Google Updates Personalised Home

22 03 2007

Google has updated it’s personalized home page with Themes :) The theme I’ve selected below, changes colour depending on the time of day, AND Australian post codes can actually be selected!

Google Personalised Home

When adding a new tab, depending on the title, google will automatically populate the page with gadgets!

Highly Recommended!

Cooler, larger capactiy Xbox 360

Premium Xbox 360

If this article is true, then the new Xbox 360 with HDMI, a 120GB Hard drive and cooler running temperatures will be available at the same price as the current Xbox 360 premium package (eventually – once all the “Elite”, black ones are sold.)

Pity there is no trade in scheme…

Ingenious Alarm Clock

21 03 2007

Engadget.com - Devious Clock

What an ingenious idea! An alarm clock that you can’t catch – A little more practical that the dragonfly alarm clock also mentioned in the article. I often set my alarm early so I can get up and go to the gym, only to find that when the alarm does go off I just keep setting it for 30 minutes later until I have to get up or I’ll be late for work..

Soapbox for MSN Video and WordPress

19 03 2007

So… Soapbox for MSN Video and WordPress hate each other…

Code from Soapbox:

<embed src="http://images.soapbox.msn.com/flash/soapbox1_1.swf" quality="high" width="412" height="362" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" flashvars="c=v&v=72191701-28c4-4bec-8dc2-8164ec5cda67" ></embed><br /><a href="http://soapbox.msn.com/video.aspx?vid=72191701-28c4-4bec-8dc2-8164ec5cda67" target="_new" title="Windows Vista &quot;Wow&quot; ad">Video: Windows Vista &quot;Wow&quot; ad</a>

WordPress formats the code to:

<ibed quality="high" width="412" height="362" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" flashvars="c=v&amp;v=72191701-28c4-4bec-8dc2-8164ec5cda67">
<a href="http://soapbox.msn.com/video.aspx?vid=72191701-28c4-4bec-8dc2-8164ec5cda67" target="_new" title="Windows Vista ">Video: Windows Vista "Wow" ad</a></ibed>

Has anyone else come across this issue?

Office 2007 Ultimate for $75

5 03 2007

This is just crazy.

Microsoft is offering Office 2007 Ultimate to University students for 5% of the RRP – $75.

I’ve always hoped that Microsoft would do something like this for students. Uni students are having to rely more and more on expensive technologies in order to get through university easily. Yes, Open Office is an alternative. Unfortunately in my opinion Microsoft Office is still better and much easier for people to get used to. Most places I go to do any sort of uni work have Microsoft Office. Using Open Office would only make the actual work process confusing as I would need to get used to different functions and locations of menu items.
